My portfolio was instrumental as I had not done super hot in school prior to entering Pratt.
I applied for the writing program with a portfolioMar 07 2006Other
I applied for the writing program with a portfolio that showed an ability to write in a variety of genres. The program was over enrolled during my semester so I think they took a lot of unqualified people.

I think the thing that most helped me whileDec 02 2005Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
I think the thing that most helped me while I was applying was coming out to Brooklyn for the National Portfolio Day here at Pratt. Having your portfolio reviewed at any National Portfolio Day around the country is really helpful to know where you stand, but by coming here to Pratt I was able to have my portfolio reviewed by my department (Graphic Design) specifically, and had that review count as my Portfolio submission. Because my more graphically oriented pieces were reviewed specificially by a GD professor, I think he was able to understand them, and gave me a stronger review than I would have gotten otherwize. I really recommend that.

Only advice I have is call the admissions officeJul 09 2005Communications
Only advice I have is call the admissions office and talk to the admissions officer and ask what exactly do they want. They are not shy to tell you exactly what they want in a portfolio. (This school is not really that picky from the looks of some of the students that got into this school)
SAT: 1120 Male

If you have money, they'll take you.
